Mad Men, the AMC drama about the men and women working in Madison Avenue’s advertising industry during the 1960s, has begun production on its third season.
Created, written and executive produced by Matthew Weiner, the series stars Jon Hamm (recently laughing it up with a guest-starring turn as Liz Lemon’s love interested on 30 Rock), Elisabeth Moss, Vincent Kartheiser, January Jones, Christina Hendricks, and John Slattery (listed as a guest star).
Also guest starring is Jared Harris, seen recently playing the creepy, teleporting terrorist David Robert Jones on Fringe. Harris will play Lane Pryce, the financial officer of Sterling Cooper Advertising Agency, in a ten-episode arc.
The third-season premiere has been set for August 16, according to the L.A. Times. Season two of Mad Men arrives on DVD on July 14.
